Mediterranean Diet

Olive oil, and other oils, generate a contribution of nine calories per ingested gram, not more oil as the EU itself has recognized that the use of oleic acid, vitamin E and polyphenols containing olive oils have beneficial health effects.
With regard to the polyphenols, which contribute to the protection of blood lipids from oxidative damage recommending consumption of 20 grams of those virgin olive oils containing at least 5 milligrams of antioxidants in the proportion of oil.
